Antony Gormely electronically scanned all 51 inhabitants of Menzies in Western Australia and transformed their images into metallic statues, which he then installed by a remote salt lake. Photographs, maps and drawings present the creative process in detail.

Antony Gormley
Since the early 1980s, Antony Gormley has used his own body to make sculptures that explore the human experience of being in the world. He is perhaps best known for his monumental sculpture in Gateshead, The Angel of the North. He won the Turner Prize in 1994 and his work has been exhibited extensively worldwide.
